Tanker kills hawker on Otedola Bridge on Lagos expressway

An accident has occurred just recently whereby a tanker killed a hawker on Otedila Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
This incident occurred just yesterday, Saturday. This accident was a multiple one which involved the tanker and 3 other vehicles.
The hawker who was killed was an egg seller. The accident occured around 3.20p.m. The hawker was the only victim who died while many others were injured.
Dr Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, who is teaches Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, (LASEMA) has confirmed the incident. He explained what happened at the scene.
He revealed this tanker was fully loaded with diesel and it crushed this female hawker who sells egg to death. It was a 60,000 litres tanker.
He revealed that the LRT conducted more investigations into this incident and revealed that this tanker had a mechanical fault. The tanker had a brake failure and crashed into 3 vehicles.
The Lagos State Ambulances Service, (LASAMBUS), Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), The police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) were at the scene of the accident
They also tried to maintain law and order on that road as the accident caused a gridlock.
The vehicles involved in the accident were later removed so that motorists can move freely.
Engr. Gbolahan Toriola who is the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation went ahead to assure the people that the officers of the LASTMA are there to ensure free movement of traffic.
