The Banking Yield Comparison (April 7, 2026)

* GTCo (The Yield King):
* Total Dividend: ₦12.76 (₦1.00 interim + ₦11.76 final).
* Current Price: ~₦125.00.
* Dividend Yield: 10.2%.
* Qualification Date: April 13, 2026.
* The Verdict: GTCo currently offers the highest absolute payout, but the stock price has rallied significantly to ₦125, which has slightly compressed the yield from its earlier highs.

* Zenith Bank (The Growth Challenger):
* Total Dividend: ₦8.75 (proposed total).
* Current Price: ~₦103.55.
* Dividend Yield: 8.4%.
* Qualification Date: April 24, 2026.
* The Verdict: While the yield is lower than GTCo's, Zenith’s 4.4x P/E ratio suggests more "Value Room." Many investors see Zenith as the "safer" entry because it hasn't peaked as aggressively as GTCo yet.

* UBA (The Efficiency Play):
* Projected Yield: ~7.5% – 7.7%.
* Current Price: ~₦46.00.
* The Verdict: UBA is the "Volume Leader" for retail investors. While its absolute dividend is lower, its low price point makes it the easiest "entry-level" banking stock for those looking to build a massive unit count for future compounding.

Questions:
1. The "Wait vs. Buy" Dilemma: GTCo’s qualification is only 6 days away (April 13), while Zenith gives you until April 24. Are you rushing into GTCo for the immediate 10.2% yield, or taking your time to accumulate Zenith at ₦103?

2. Reinvestment Power: In a 27.5% interest rate environment, the "Smart Money" is taking these dividends and immediately putting them into Money Market Funds or buying more bank shares. What is your plan for the cash when it hits your account in May?

3. The "T+2" Warning: Remember, for GTCo, you must buy by Friday, April 10 to be settled by the April 13 qualification date. For Zenith, you have until April 22. Don't let the "Settlement Gap" cost you your dividend!

The "Banking War" is in full swing! Are you leaning towards the 10.2% 'Certainty' of GTCo, or the 8.4% 'Potential' of Zenith Bank? Drop your portfolio strategy below, let’s see which bank the community trusts most with their capital! ️

⚠️ Note:
With GTCo's Ex-Dividend date hitting on April 14, expect a sharp ₦11.76 price adjustment that morning. Don't panic when you see the "red" candle, it’s just the market moving the cash from the ticker to your pocket! ️⚖️
