The city of Kaduna, formerly known as North Central State is located in Kaduna state in the Northern part of Nigeria on the Kaduna river. Kaduna was formerly the political capital of the Northern region during the British colonial era.

Kaduna State was founded in 1900 by Sir Lord Lugard, Nigeria's governor-general in the colonial era. It was the Northern Region capital from 1954-1967. The city was turned into a state by Gen Murtala Mohammed in 1976. As at 2021, Kaduna state boasts of a population of over 9 million people. With diverse ethnic groups, Kaduna is rich in culture and the city is a mix of various dialects, customs and traditions. The ethnic groups in Kaduna consists of Kanuri, Yoruba, Gbagyi, Hausa, Fulani, Ham, Igbo, Nupe among others Kaduna State is a trade center and a gateway to other Northern states in Nigeria.

Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna Kaduna Polytechnic National board for Arabic and Islamic Studies Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria

Kaduna city is one of the few states in Nigeria that has an aviation academy for those aiming to pursue a career in aviation. The Air Force Institute of Technology in Kaduna also known as Nigeria Air Force University is one of the prestigious military schools in Northern Nigeria located in Kawo, Kaduna local government. The school has five faculties which include Air Engineering Social and Management Sciences, Computing Ground and Communication Engineering.

Requirements to gain admission into Air Force Institute of technology, Kaduna

1. Apply for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and select the school as your first choice with your preferred course.

2. The UTME cut off mark for the school is 180 for degree courses and 160 for diploma courses

3. After making the 180 cut off mark in UTME, candidates are required to sit for the school's screening exercise.

4. Students seeking to transfer must have a CGPA of 3.5 to begin with.

The Nigerian Geological Survey Agency has its research center in Kaduna. The city also has a geology museum containing arts and artifacts from various northern cultures. Kaduna has an international airport and a 16,000 capacity stadium known as the Ahmadu Bello stadium.
