The only crime that I committed was wanting more, Mercy Eke reveals amid tears
Former BBNaija AllStars housemate Mercy Eke was seen crying during an interview with Hero Daniels while explaining the level of animosity she experienced in the BBNaija AllStars house. Mercy Eke said she didn't understand why people hated her so much for trying her luck the second time after winning the Pepper Dem Big Brother Naija season in 2018.
She said she didn't have any support apart from the ones she got from her fans which pushed her to the finals. Even at that, she was criticized for accepting the invite to the reality TV show for a second time. Amidst tears, Mercy Eke said she believes that most people will only cheer you on as long as you are not succeeding above them.
Mercy said she believed she didn't commit a crime. Instead, the only crime she could think of was that she wanted more for herself which isn't a crime. While Mercy Eke was in the AllStars house, housemates like Ike and Cross once revealed that they wouldn't be happy if Mercy won the show because she already won once.
Statements like that got Mercy devastated to the extent she cried her eyes out. Her fans cheered and supported her and didn't relent until she made the Top 2. Although she didn't win the AllStars show, the support she received from her fans was evidence that there were people who loved her regardless.
Mercy Eke is a 33-year-old media personality and winner of the 2018 BBNaija Pepper Dem season. She graduated from Imo State University and became popular after the reality TV show. She was also one of the housemates of the recently concluded BBNaija AllStars.
