There’s a big problem.

We may be raising the smartest generation that cannot think for themselves. I mean a generation that have lost the ability to think critically because of AI.

If you can still think, please think critically about this.

For the first time in human history, intelligence has been outsourced. I don’t mean shared. I don’t mean enhanced. OUTSOURCED!

You no longer need to remember. You no longer need to reason. You no longer need to struggle through a problem. Whenever there’s a need, just pick up your device and as AI and it will answer.

There was a time when thinking was painful. You had to sit with confusion, argue with your own mind. Fail. Retry. Fail again and again. That process built something powerful: your ability to think independently.

Today, that process is quietly dying.

Because now, the moment thinking becomes uncomfortable AI is there to rescue you. Fiam, AI, can I roast my yam or boil it? Can I? Should I? How to?

Even Sam Altman himself admitted something very uncomfortable and scary.

He said AI is making some children “dumber”, especially those who rely on it to do their thinking and schoolwork for them.

Just think about that for a moment and take a look at your children.

One of the men building the future is warning you about the danger of that same future.

But there is even a deeper problem nobody is talking about. It seems like we are all carried away by the AI trend that we don’t pause to reason.

When you repeatedly delegate thinking,
your brain adapts. Science already calls this “cognitive offloading.”

A 2026 research review shows that heavy reliance on digital tools may lead to an erosion of higher-order thinking and problem-solving ability over time.

In simple terms: Use it or lose it. Use your brain or lose it. That’s what it means.

Now let’s talk about something I’m sure will shock the parents that feel given their children iPads is a proof of love and class.

While you are busy exposing your children to these things, the very people who built this digital world don’t fully trust it for their own children.

Steve Jobs did not allow his children to freely use the iPad. He publicly said he would not and that parents should do the same.

Bill Gates strictly limited screen time and delayed giving phones to his kids.

Why?

Because they understood something the rest of the world ignored. These tools are powerful and dangerously addictive.

In fact, many tech elites send their children to low-tech or no-screen schools, like Waldorf-style education, where learning happens through thinking, creativity, and real human interaction.

Not screens. Not shortcuts. Not instant answers. A place where they would be forced to be human and make use of their brains.

But while their children are being trained to think, your own children are being trained to prompt.

Now let’s talk about intelligence itself.

For decades, human IQ was rising globally. This was called the Flynn Effect. But recently, researchers have started observing a possible reversal. Revesal for the first time.

Some studies now suggest that younger generations, including Gen Z, are showing declines in certain cognitive abilities and IQ trends.

And no, it is not because they are naturally less intelligent. It is because their environment has changed.

Less or no deep reading. More scrolling. Less problem-solving. More shortcuts. Less thinking, more prompts and dependence on AI and iPads.

We have more access to information than any generation in history, yet we are gradually losing the ability to process it deeply.

And children are the most vulnerable.

A study showed that excessive screen time in early childhood is linked to lower developmental scores later on. Another finding shows that reducing screen time improves mental health and social behavior in kids.

So the question is not whether technology is powerful.
The real question is: What is it quietly taking away from us?

Let me be clear before you people hang me.

AI is not evil. It is one of the greatest tools ever created and I love it.

But like every powerful tool, it can either amplify your intelligence or replace it completely.

And that choice is personal. You have a choice to decide what you want.

Every time you refuse to think, every time you run to AI for the simplest reasoning, every time you avoid mental struggle. You are training your brain to become dependent. Even some people will ask AI to create a comment for them on this post.

The danger is not AI. The danger is a generation that forgets how to think without it. AI can assist you or it can replace you. It’s your choice.

Before now, every other technology has worked to enhance our intelligence, but AI is here to suspend it and make you feel smart when you are just Olodo with cobwebs inside your brain.

You actually made a very valid point.
AI is helpful, no doubt, but if we rely on it for everything, we’ll slowly stop thinking for ourselves.

At the end of the day, it’s about balance, i es use AI to help you, not to replace your brain.
