Thugs beat Naval officers to death in Ondo state
Some thugs have beaten a man who is a naval officer to death in Ondo state. The victim has been identified as Akingbohun M, and he is a naval officer.
This incident happened in Imeri, Ose local government area in the state. This had reportedly happened after a disagreement occurred between both parties.
The navy officer was attached to a Navy Secondary School in Imeri. Some thugs consisting of 6 men had then attacked and beaten him up till he died. This happened on Monday.
It was a friend of the deceased, Sunday Olaoluwa who reported this to a police station nearby.
Someone who witnessed the disagreement between the thugs and the victim said that the Navy officer was driving in the community when he splashed water on an okada man and his passenger. This man was identified as Ayo. The water that splashed on them was muddy.
The Navy officer then parked and apologised to them both but they refused to take the apology.
The okada man then called on some thugs in the area and they gathered around. One of these thugs hit the victim on his head using an iron rod and the man fell.
They rushed him to the hospital but on getting there, he was confirmed dead. They apprehended this okada man and gave him up to the police.
The other thugs involved ran away as soon as they heard about the death of this man.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya who is the spokesperson of the police in Ondo state confirmed the incident. She revealed that it was this minor disagreement that led to the victims death.
She also confirmed that these thugs beat him using a plank and iron rod.
