Thugs set Ebonyi High Court ablaze.
Some Suspected thugs have set the High Court in Owutu Edda community in Ebonyi State ablaze.
This incident occurred about 24 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared results of Ebonyi State elections
Recall the gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections held on Saturday, 18th of march, 2023.
Mrs Oluchi Uduma who is the registrar of the court was the one whonspoke about the incident. She mentioned tgat these thugs were chanting war songs as they entered the court and set it on fire.
She mentioned that this wasn't the first attempt to burn the high court. The first time they had tried to, they were stopped by security agencies.
She mentioned that the building was totally burnt alongside documents inside.
She also mentioned that skem youths and security operatives were mobilized but they weren't able to catch them.
Mr. Chima Ekuma Nkama who is the Chairman of Afikpo South Local Government Area also confirmed the incident. He mentioned that the court was burnt beyond repair.
