Timipre Sylva resigns as minister of state for petroleum resources
Mr Timipre Sylva, the minister of State for Petroleum Resources, has resigned from office.
Timipre Marlin Sylva is a Nigerian politician. He is a former Governor of Bayelsa State and he is also the present Minister of State for Petroleum Resources
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday mentioned that the minister had submitted his resignation (from office) letter to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
Sources report that the minister has plans to contest in the gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa state. He will also participate in the forthcoming APC’s primary election. These are most likely to be held in April.
He has served for one term as governor of Bayelsa State and it is within his right to contest for another term.
The spokesperson for the minister of petroleum resources couldn't confirm or deny this news because he claimed not to have been officially informed.
