Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Timo Werner on loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have settled for a deal for the player with Timo Werner expected to fly from Germany to England for his medical.

Fabrizio Romano says;

"Timo Werner to Spur, here we go! Deal in place with RB Leipzig. All documents being prepared.''

Further details of the deal reveal a buy option is included but it is not mandatory. However, should Tottenham want to trigger the clause and sign the player on a permanent basis, they will have to pay £14.5m.

Spurs have also agreed they will pay Timo Werner's £4.5m salary as part of the deal.

Werner's loan move to Tottenham Hotspur will mark his second stint with the Premier League after his previous spell with Chelsea.

The 27-year-old did not have an impressive outing with Chelsea but will hope to improve with Spurs. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is said to be a big fan of the player due to his pace and work ethic.

Tottenham are set to miss Son Heung-Min to Asian Cup for one month and Richarlison has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, hence Werner has been tipped to provide the attacking cover for the resurgent London outfit.

It is a short-term loan deal which will expire in six months at the end of the season. Should the German attacking midfielder impress on his shift it is more likely Tottenham will trigger the buyout clause to sign him permanently.

Elsewhere, Tottenham will soon welcome back their marquee summer James Maddison back to the squad this January in what will be a big boost to the team.
