Tinubu orders DSS To Vacate the EFCC Office In Lagos
The newly sworn in president of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has given directives to the Department of State Security Service (DSS) to Vacate the EFCC Office In Lagos State.
He ordered that they leave the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikoyi, Lagos.
He gave this order on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. This was after the report of a siege on the office of EFCC was mentioned to him.
This issue had been brought to his attention and so his response was to give this order
The EFCC had raised the alarm about a siege by some operatives of the DS to their office building.
They complained that this was a threat to their work which is fighting against the economic and financial crimes in the country.
They mentioned that the DSS operatives had prevented them from gaining access to the facility by laying siege on the part of Awolowo Road in Lagos.
The EFCC who had arrived at the office on Tuesday morning has not been allowed to enter and it was the DSS who was behind this.
They placed barricades to the entrance with some armoured personnel carriers.
The DSS reacted to this and denied it. They released a statement saying this wasn't true and they didn't do such.
They said they have not reveals between them but the president reacted to this and said if there were issues, they would be resolved in an amicable way.
