President Tinubu paid a visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo in Ogun State yesterday 29th June.
This is his first visit to Ogun State since he came into power on May 29, 2023. He visited the Kings with his entourage. Among them were the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Nuhu Ribadu NSA and Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
President Tinubu, while at the Awujale's palace in Ijebu Ode said, "After I won the election, you phoned me asking to book an appointment to see me. Me? Give you an appointment? No! I am coming to see you"
He appreciated the King for being a father to him all through the years and also for being an exemplary figure in Yorubaland.
Awujale in his response stated, "You must be fair to all Nigerians in everything you do. You have started it. You must continue that way.
The first major decisions you took on subsidy and monetary policies restored the hope of both your friends and foes about the future of Nigeria.
Immediately the results were announced and you're declared President, I told everyone around me that God has answered the prayers of Nigerians."
After leaving the Awujale's palace, he and his entourage visited the Alake of Egbaland's palace in Ake, Abeokuta.
