Popular media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed that she would have stayed in her former marriage if she had a child in that marriage. Toke Makinwa is a well-known actress, Media personality, TV Host and model. She is also an influencer.

She recently shared this while speaking with her guest, Yoruba Actress Iyabo Ojo on the most recent episode of her podcast. She shared that she would have compromised in her marriage with her former husband had they had a child together.

Recall Toke Makinwa was married to Maje Ayida who is an entrepreneur back in 2014. The couple called it quits in 2017 after 3 years of marriage. They didn't have a child together during their marriage.

Toke shared that the case would have been different because she would have stayed with him if they had a child together. She was speaking with Iyabo Ojo about the women who stay in toxic relationships for the sake of their children.

She stated “Sometimes I feel a lot of women stay in unhealthy marriages for the children. For the longest, you hear so many women say things like, ‘the marriage is done but I only stay for my kids. And I’m going to be honest here, if I have had a kid while I was married, I may have been one of those women. Because I also had the trauma of losing both parents at the age of 8. I was adopted, I have a great life which I’m thankful for but there were times that I wondered what life could have possibly been like if that didn’t happened. So, for the sake of my children, I may have had to compromise just because I wanted them to have mum and dad. I may have been one of these women. So, I’m not even judging anyone right here.”

This was her opinion about women staying in marriage just for their children as she knew she would have do the same had the case been different.
