It's that time of the year again when many English teams will battle for the coveted FA Cup trophy - the oldest cup in football competition in the world; it is currently in its 143rd edition.
Kicking off round three on Thursday, Crystal Palace and Everton played out a goalless scoreline, setting up a replay that will be played soon. The match saw a red card to the away side, Everton.
Both sides had a flurry of chances to put the ball in the back of the net but it still ended 0-0.
Yesterday, the 5th of January, three fixtures played out in the FA Cup. It was Brentford up against Wolves, Fulham vs Rotherham, and lastly, Tottenham Hotspur locking horns with Burnley.
Brentford 1-1 Wolves
One of the few clashes involving Premier League clubs in the FA Cup round three, Brentford dominated proceedings for most of the game as Wolves were reduced to 10 men, no thanks to Joao Gomes' harsh tackle on Christian Norgaard.
Brentford took the lead in the 41st minute, through a Neal Maupay goal - the goal came off a well-driven shot on a loose ball off a free kick just hovering around the six-yard area.
In the 64th minute, Tommy Doyle drew the visitor's level, from about 25 yards out, the Manchester City loanee fired past Thomas Strakosha in goal for Brentford.
A replay is certainly on the cards for both teams in a not-so-distant time.
Fulham 1-0 Rotherham
Championship side Rotherham United traveled down to Craven Cottage to face Premier League side - Fulham. It was no surprise to see Fulham being the dominant party in the match against Rotherham who sit bottom of the table in the Championship.
Fulham found it hard to find the back of the net despite having a Lion share of the ball possession, their only goal of the match came through a mistake from Rotherham defender, Sebastian Raven.
Harry Wilson pressed and intercepted his pass, with the ball falling to Bobby de Cordova-Reid who made no mistake 20 yards out putting it into the back of the net.
Not long after, Rotherham pulled one back but their goal was ruled out for offside, Rotherham barely threatened the opponents' goal after this, it was just more waves of attack from Fulham.
A goal was enough to see the home team progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Burnley
Another 'all-Premier league clash' saw Tottenham Hotspur play hosts to Vincent Kompany's Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur were without their in-form player - Heung-Min Son who is off for the Asian Cup.
Both teams lacked a cutting edge as chances kept going by without being converted, it was only until the 78th minute one of the teams got the breakthrough.
Pedro Porro stole the ball off a Burnley player and fired a rocket 25 yards out, past Arijanet Muric in goal for Burnley.
That was enough to take Tottenham to the next round of the FA Cup.
There are more fixtures in the FA Cup set to be played out today including Chelsea v Preston, Sunderland v Newcastle United, and QPR v Bournemouth, and tomorrow we will see Arsenal up against Liverpool.
These and many more will determine the teams in the next round of the FA Cup.
