According to recent reports, bandits in Kebbi State have displaced 10,000 Nigerians and killed countless numbers.

The bandits have carried out a series of murderous invasions in Wasagu and Danko Local Government Area settlements along the Chonoko axis.

Since the beginning of 2019, more than 40 communities have been razed. Because of the threat of more attacks, many residents have fled their houses.

Dan Kade, Warkata, Kurgiye, Ragam I, II, and III, Yar Kuka, Shangel, Tungan Dangula, Kahalmo I & II, Kadebo, Ched-Kubu, Yababa, Gimi, Ganyale I, II, and III, Zuttu, and Irgaa are among the places affected.

Silabi, Digoga, Bankunatare, Bawada, Zagami, Turame, Gyado, Tungan Kwando, Ktare, Sebzama I, II, and III, Dhilo, Duru, Tudun Wada, Digwengwe, Gaya, Saaki, Yar Buga, Dilanko, Dhilo, Duru, Tudun Wada, Digwengwe, Gaya, Saaki.

The abandoned properties have been taken over by several bandits operating in Chonoko, while the owners are stranded in temporary lodgings far away.

Mai Unguwa Maizuwa, a Zagami employee who was fired, recounted their ordeal, recalling that the attackers had attacked on a frequent basis in recent years.

During raids, the bandits, according to the 70-year-old man, kill residents, injure them, and take cattle and other animals.

Maizuwa said he lost a lot of cement as well as the money he had set aside for his business (N997,000 naira).

The septuagenarian, who has 20 offspring, is currently residing in a Chonoko town IDP camp.

Many families, including women, children, nursing moms, the elderly, and the disabled, are housed in the congested camp. Another victim, Musa

Sarkin Makada, lost his son in the Kadebo attacks. He grumbled, "Life has been difficult for us since."

According to a neighborhood leader who requested anonymity, the bandits continue to operate with impunity. There are no classes in place.

Aside from invasions and kidnappings, the criminals destroy food supplies, farms, and houses, according to him.

If the situation does not change, the elder warned of an impending food crisis in the area, Kebbi, and possibly Nigeria. "

Thousands of farmers have been forced to abandon their vast acreages. " Agriculture, which is the only source of income, has suffered as a result of this. In all of the impacted communities, schools have been shuttered, resulting in an increase in the number of students.

"Security forces are absent, and aid organizations such as the Red Cross, Refugees Commission, and NEMA have failed to respond."

He expressed his disappointment that the IDPs had not yet received relief supplies or medications for the sick and traumatized.

Nsmnews reports that the Federal Government officially declared bandits terrorists in January 2022 after years of crimes and inaction that were publicly criticised.

However, there are questions about what will happen to the millions of people who have been forced to leave their homes. Many people have lost their ancestral homes, possessions, and means of income and are now dependent on meager stipends and handouts.

President Muhammadu Buhari promised on Monday that the bandit threat would not rise to the level of Boko Haram.

Trains have also been targeted by bandits on several occasions.

Hundreds of individuals were kidnapped in the latest Abuja-Kaduna train incident in Katari, which occurred on March 28.
