TRANSCORP HOTEL OUT AS COMPANIES WITH N1trn MARKET CAP DROP TO 10 AS OF June 06, 2024
As of June 6, 2024, the number of companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) with a market capitalization exceeding N1 trillion fell to ten, down from eleven in May. Eight of these companies also have market caps above US$1 billion. Dangote Cement leads with N11.19 trillion, followed by Airtel Africa and BUA Foods at N8.08 trillion and N6.84 trillion, respectively. Airtel Africa and MTN Nigeria saw market cap increases of 8.97% and 4.55%, while Dangote Cement and BUA Foods remained stable. Transcorp Hotel dropped below the N1 trillion mark, previously holding the eleventh spot. The sectors represented include Financial Services, ICT, Industrial Goods, Utilities, Consumer Goods, Services, and Oil and Gas. The NGX market cap showed resilience, rebounding to N56.08 trillion in early June from N55.55 trillion in May.
