Two abducted Chibok girls escape from their captors

Two out of the many chibok girls still in captivity have escaped from the den of their captors after 9 years.

These 2 girls are only a small number out of the 98 girls who are still missing. They escaped from the Sambisa forest in Borno State.

Sources have revealed that they were able to escape due to some intense operations of the military in that forest.

The 2 people who escaped have been identified. One of them is from Chibok and the other is from Dzilang village.

This means there are still 96 girls in captive. Recall some times ago, there was a movement over the failure of the government to bring back these girls even after 9 years.

There was a #BringBackOurGirls campaign earlier this month. The people had appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to do this before he leaves office in May.

They pleaded that it has been 9 years since 276 schoolgirls were abducted from the Government Secondary School in Chibok in Borno State. This incident happened in 2014.

Since 2014, 107 were released out of these 276, 57 girls were able to escape and about 16 were rescued by the military. Adding to this list is the 2 that escaped recently.
