Two men arrested for producing fake drinks in a repulsive factory
Two Nigerian men have been arrested by the police officers of Ojo division, for manufacturing fake drinks in an unkempt and repulsive factory. The Lagos Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed via his X account that a certain Imo Lawrence(35) and Magnus Nwonka(42), were in possession of fake drinks.
The suspects led the policemen to their multi-room factory and an investigation is still ongoing to get more information out of them. The issue of fake drinks has been rampant for days now as NAFDAC burst a factory in Abia State where varieties of drinks were illegally manufactured. This is another discovery by the Ojo Lagos Police Division.
Many fear consuming fake drinks due to harmful coloring and chemicals that are used in the production process. These drinks are produced in unhygienic environments and have been shown to be one of the reasons behind mass reports of kidney failures and renal diseases in Nigeria.
