Two-storey building collapses in Ibadan, leaving 8 injured.

A two-storey building in Ibadan, Oyo State collapsed recently and has left 8 people injured. These people who were injured were occupants of that building. They reside in this building which collapsed.

The building is located in Inalende area of Ibadan. This incident occurred on Monday morning. These victims narrowly escaped death but were all injured.

The building collapsed during a heavy rain which had been falling for hours. The neighbours of these occupants and some other residents of that area rushed to the scene to rescue these people who were inside the building.

Good enough, they were able to rescue all the 8 occupants of that building. This incident happened early in the morning at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

All the victims were rescued alive, but had all sustained various degrees of injuries. They have all been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

One witness who is a resident of the area who has been identified as Mr Ismaila Adeyemo revealed that it took them about an hour before they could rescue all of them.

He also shared that the rain was a heavy one and had started the day before the incident occurred, which was Sunday. The rain started Sunday evening and fell till the following morning and it was what led to the building collapse.

He also revealed that this building had some structural defects, that believe the landlord of that building should have taken note of before this happened.

Another resident of the area said she had been asleep when a loud sound around 6:35am woke her up. She says she immediately raised alarm after she found out what happened.

She says the residents of the area were able to rescue all the victims but their belongings have been destroyed and buried in the rubble of the building.

Mr Isaac Dimeji, who is An officer of the State Fire Service, also confirmed that tgere were no casualties. No one died, they were injured and are being attended to in the hospital.
