The United States of America (USA) has announced a ban on the importation of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 Apple Watch. This was confirmed by the US Trade Ambassador Katherine Tai in a statement on Tuesday.
This started in 2021 when the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) accused Apple of infringing on a patent belonging to another company, Masimo Corp.
In October 2023, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) stopped the sales of Apple Watch due to a technology used in detecting the blood oxygen level of users. In response to this, Apple made an appeal that the Commission wrongly accused them.
At the beginning of the month, Apple removed all gadgets from its US websites and halted sales of devices from stores in the country. This decision then became final on December 26th, 2023 after several negotiations. Though, Apple asked the US customs to allow them till January 12 when they will debate on its redesign.
