US prosecutors have asked a judge to sentence Hushpuppi's ally and internet fraudster Olalekan Jacob Ponle popularly known as Woodberry to 14 years in prison for an $8 million scam.
Apparently, Woodberry and Ramon Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi have pleaded guilty to eight counts of charges in the US.
It was also reported that the sentencing recommendation requested that Mr Ponle aka Woodberry should pay restitution of over $8 million to the fraud victims.
It was later agreed that Woodberry will surrender assets worth $8 million. These are luxury watches and cars to the foreign government.
Recall that Woodberry and Hushpuppi were both arrested in Dubai on June 10, 2020. The duo were arrested alongside 10 others in an operation tagged Fox Hunt. They were accused of crimes including money laundering, identity theft, bank fraud, cyber fraud, impersonation and hacking.
