Matteo Politano was the first Napoli player to be sent off by referee Colombo before Victor Osimhen.

Why Victor Osimhen was sent off

It was an extremely feisty clash between the two teams at Estadio Olimpico. Fourteen yellow cards was issued by the referee throughout the game as the two sides battled it out for all three points.

Napoli lost it after they went down to 10 men following Politano's straight red card as Roma capitalized on their depleted opponent to break the goal deadlock and take the lead.

Minutes after Politano's red card, Victor Osimhen also bagged his second yellow card and was sent off.

Osimhen's first yellow card came following a poor tackle on his opponent. Few minutes after the first yellow card, he was booked again for another poor tackle and was sent off.

It was his second red card of his Napoli career, and it came just hours after he renewed his contract with Napoli.

Roma jumped on the advantage after Osimhen's red card, and scored a stoppage-time goal to double the lead.
