[Video]: Camera captured four Nigerian carers maltreating an 89-year-old woman in the UK​


The video of four Nigerian carers mishandling an 89-year-old grandmother suffering from Dementia has surfaced on the internet and captivated attention of the internet users. These four were carers assigned to cater to the 89-year-old woman for four days, and they were unknowingly captured mishandling the woman while cleaning her up.

This incident happened at Wolverhampton care home in the United Kingdom. The granddaughters of this old woman whose names are Danielle and Rebecca Hinsley had noticed bruises on her body after they went visiting. They complained to the staff of the care home but little was done to remedy the situation.

Afterward, they planted a wifi-camera in their grandmother's room which captured four Nigerian carers maltreating the old woman. They were seen aggressively pinning the old woman to the bed, forcefully undressing her, and even mocking her till she cried. The footage has been presented as evidence to the care home managers, the Care Quality Commission, and West Midlands Police.

As of the time of writing this article, the culprits whose names are Ame Tunkara, 33, Morounranti Adefila, 43, Danny Ohen, 39, and Bridget Aideyan, 49, have been charged with ill-treatment and willful neglect. They were found guilty as charged and have been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment by Wolverhampton Crown Court.
