WAEC releases 2023 Examination results, withold results from 8 states
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the examination result for 2023. They recently announced that they have released the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
They took to their twitter to reveal the information a few hours ago. They shared their delight to release the results for the school Candidates who sat for this exam. They also revealed that their digital certificates have been released.
They wrote on their twitter "The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform Candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2023, that the Council has released their digital certificates alongside their results"
The head of the WAEC Nigeria Office, whonis Mr Patrick Areghan also spoke recently at a press briefing. This was yesterday, Monday.
He shared that on behalf of the Registrar to Council, as well as the Management and Staff of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Nigeria he welcomes them to the briefing to announce the release of the 2023 WAEC result.
He then shared that this 2023 exam, WASSCE which was for School Candidates, was held for 7 weeks. Recalkhe exam commenced on the 8th of May to the 23 of June, 2023.
He also revealed that the cost of conducting thesr exams have increased due to rising inflation in the country which is why the examination.body is ensuring that they get paid in full by the state government before they released results of some candidates in 8 affected states.
About 1,613,733 candidates sat for the examination this year.
About 8 states in Nigeria out of the 36 states have the results of their candidates withheld and this is due to the fact that the states are yet to pay for their candidates’ exam fees in full. Their results will be withheld until this is paid in full.
Also about 262,803. candidates' results have also been withheld in connection with some reports of exam malpractice which is being investigated.
