Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has been declared as the winner in the senatorial seat Elections in Sokoto state.

It was Professor Usman Magawata who is the Returning Officer for the Sokoto Central senatorial supplementàry polls who declared him as the winner.

He was declared winner after he had a total of 141,468 votes and was able to defeat his rival Hon. Mannir Muhammad Daniya who was the deputy governor of Sokoto. Daniya had a total of 118,445 votes.

Recall that INEC declared Sokoto Elections inconclusive when the elections were held on the 18th of March 2023. This was after no clear winner could emerge for the national assembly elections.

He is the current Senàtor who is representing the senatorial Constituency at the National Assembly.
