Warner Bros Discovery is set to expand its Max streaming platform to seven new Asian markets on November 19, 2024. This rollout will extend the service’s availability to over 72 countries worldwide. The newly added regions include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, bringing popular content from major franchises and networks such as HBO, Discovery, the DC Universe, Harry Potter, and Cartoon Network to these markets.
This expansion comes on the heels of the company's recent forecast of adding more than 6 million new subscribers to its Max platform during the third quarter.
The Max service, which was relaunched in May 2023 with an expanded content library, includes premium programming from HBO as well as shows from HGTV, the Food Network, and the Discovery Channel. Earlier this year, Max made its debut in Europe, strategically timed around the excitement of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The company’s aggressive expansion efforts underline its strategy to capture a larger share of the growing global streaming market, driven by the popularity of its diverse programming.
