Niyi Sunmonu, the President of the Congress of Nigerian University Academics(CONUA) has disclosed that the union is not in reconciliation talks with the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).

This information was contained in a statement that was released by Niyi on Tuesday. He was reacting to a communique that stated that the VC of the Federal University, Oye, Ekiti State, had reassured that CONUA and ASUU have embarked on a reconciliation talk.

After an inflow of questions from news outlets, asking about the authenticity of the news, Niyi had speak about to clarify the false news. He categorically stated that CONUA had nothing to do with this information and it was a mere opinion of the VC of FUOYE. He said their union is more focused on nurturing and building CONUA and seeking ways to progress. Therefore, members of the public should kindly disregard the reconciliation talk that has been making rounds in the media.
