The National Medical Sciences (NMS) laboratory in Pennsylvania, USA denies conducting a toxicology test on late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad.

After Mohbad's death, the Lagos State Government announced plans to fly Mohbad's corpse to the USA for a toxicology test to ascertain the cause of his death. The test results arrived months later and on May 15th, 2024, the pathologist disclosed at the coroner's inquest that the autopsy conducted on Mohbad couldn't reveal the cause of his death because his body was decomposed.

According to Punch Newspapers, Esther Dede, the Client Services Associate, Forensics Division at NMS Lab, debunked the claims by the Lagos State Government that Mohbad's autopsy was conducted at their laboratory.

The facility sent an email to the media house which read, "Unfortunately, we do not have a case for that patient. To maintain our compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations, we would need authorization from the submitting agency."
