We won't dismiss a policeman for picking such money, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi says following viral video of policemen picking the money Shallipopi sprayed
Police PRO identified as Olumuyiwa Adejobi has responded to the viral clip of policemen struggling to pick up some of the money that Shallipopi sprayed on the floor. After some netizens had claimed that it wasn't right for Policemen to stoop to that level of picking money from the floor and called for the dismissal of those men, Adejobi said there was nothing wrong with it. He stated that the policemen would not be dismissed because they picked such money. Instead, they will be lectured against doing such but it isn't a grave sin that warrants dismissal.
Adejobi wrote, "We won't dismiss a policemen for picking such money. We can only lecture him not to do so again, as such relegates him." Thoughtful netizens supported Adejobi's stance on this matter, claiming that the man should be pardoned. Many said the economy is hard and the policeman has a family to feed. If it is okay for an ordinary citizen to pick money that celebrities have sprayed from the floor, why is it an offense when a Policeman does same?
Some comments were as follows:
