Wedding reception erupts in flames
Fire broke out at a wedding reception which was taking place in Lagos.
The celebration came to an abrupt stop as soon as the fire broke out.
This incident happened on Saturday, the 8th of April, 2023.
The wedding took place at the Yard 158 event center in Oregun, Lagos State.
The incident came as a shock as everyone scrambled to get away.
Everyone was enjoying the party when the fire broke out.
We learnt that it was time for the toast and then firecrackers were lit by the organizers of the event. This turned to horror as the fire spread to the elaborate decorations of the hall.
Many of the guests tried to put out the fire but they were unsuccessful as the fire continued to spread.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. Everyone managed to escape.
The extent of the damage of the fire is yet to be determined. Investigations are been carried out presently
The management of the hall, Yard 158 spoke on the unfortunate incident. They were grateful that no lie was lost in the accident.
They mentioned that investigation as to the cause of the accident is still ongoing.
