Caramel Plug has been exposed by an Instagram vendor known as ruchycollections for refusing to promote her brand in a video that went viral weeks ago.
In the viral video, Caramel was asked to give details on the brand she was wearing to make fans get acquainted with her fashion choices.
She listed fashion brands including Van Cleef, Alexander McQueen but when asked where she got her outfit from, she said, "My dress is from a ready to wear brand. I'm not going to mention the handle because if I do that, I'll give her free promo"
However, this didn't sit well with a lot of netizens. Most were of the opinion that if Caramel could mention top international brands like McQueen, she should also be willing to give free publicity to a Nigerian brand.
Reportedly, the vendor gave Caramel the gown for free in exchange for free publicity and Caramel refused to promote her business.
Ruchycollections also shared screen grabs of her chats with Caramel while she was confirming the order for the gown while also revealing that the influencer denied knowing her.
However, another vendor known as Mariam Yayi claimed to have sold the gown to Caramel after she paid for it in full.
Here are some screenshots verifying that Caramel bought the gown from Mariam:
