West Brom defender Kyle Bartley rushed to the stands to rescue his two children as West Brom and Wolverhampton Wanderers fans clashed at the Hawthorns.
Bartley's two children, who were part of the family group, sat in the area of concern as Bartley acted quickly to get them out of there with projectiles failing all around the stands.
He was seen holding the hands of his daughter, Willow, and was carrying the youngest son on his arm as they entered the tunnel with the help of security.
In the 82nd minute of the match, the FA Cup encounter between West Brom and Wolverhampton Wanderers got suspended for 35 minutes.
This came as a result of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans gaining entrance into the field.
The footage that was shared on social media showed the presence of 50 policemen and stewards who tried every possible means to hold off the crowd.
Despite four announcements being made for the fans to leave the pitch, the irate fans occupied it for minutes.
There were five arrests made by the police following the incident. At least one fan was taken away on a stretcher, and another one was taken away with blood pouring out of his head.
A ball boy was hit on the head by a plastic bottle. A West Brom fan said, "I've seen it bad, but never like this."
Games involving the two teams had always been known for similar incidents, especially during West Brom's Premier League days. It was the first time both teams met since 2021, but no one saw this horrible incident coming.
The West Brom team had suggested a life ban on any fan caught in the violence.
The club revealed this via a statement saying, "The club will work with West Midlands Police and the Football Association to fully investigate the incidents that resulted in a suspension of the game."
“Any individual involved in the disorder will be subject to a club ban, in addition to a potential criminal investigation.”
