Meet Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian lady who attempted the Guinness World Record for the longest massage on different individuals.
Joyce began the 72-hour challenge in a bid to break the record set in 2015 by Alastair Galpin in South Kalimantan, Indonesia but she was unable to complete it as she collapsed before the end of the exercise.
She was 53 hours into the challenge and 19 hours away from completing it when she collapsed.
Joyce collapsed at the venue in Lekki, Lagos at midnight. The Instagram live session used to televise the challenge was interrupted and she never returned.
During the live session, her assistant was with her the whole time. As soon as she collapsed to the ground, her assistant quickly ran towards her in a bid to revive her.
Nigerians thought Joyce would go through with the challenge but she was unable to. Surprisingly, she suspended the exercise abruptly and later informed her followers on Instagram that she will update them whether or not she would continue the challenge or not.
However, Galpin of Indonesia still holds the record for the longest massage for a period of 25 hours and 4 minutes.
