Nollywood actor Etim Effiong has revealed the reason why Nollywood actresses don't solicit for funds online like their male counterparts do.
On the Bahd and Boujee podcast, Effiong said women have been men's responsibility for a long time in society. Therefore, the man is always ready to render assistance whenever the woman is in need.
He stated, "Whatever culture you come from in Nigeria, it will be a taboo to the men when the women in that community or that culture have problems and the men aren't solving it."
Etim Effiong added that when men reach a stage where they can no longer solve their problems, they would rather ask the world than ask a woman. He added, "Using myself as an example, I do a job, I get my cheque. Immediately, because I'm married and I have a family, what I'm thinking about is my family. How to sustain my family, how to pay bills, how to sort my wife out."
He said when a woman gets her money, she barely thinks about taking care of other people. Though there may be exceptions. He stated that a woman is thinking of herself and her investments.
