Popular dancer Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau popularly known as Kaffy has revealed why she chose dancing as a career.

In a recent interview with TVC, Kaffy stated that she didn't choose dance. Instead, dance chose her. She stated that she solely believed that everyone was destined for something. Kaffy said she had to grab onto the mantle and utilize it as a tool.

She explained that she was pushed by the way Africa defines success. She said the societal standard for success is becoming a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or any related profession. She said a person should be valuable to society regardless of whatever career path they choose.

Kaffy stated that she wanted to challenge the status quo and prove to her parents that she could become successful regardless of what path she chose. She said she chose a career that even her country doesn't find valuable and created value with it.

Kaffy is a 43-year-old talented dancer, choreographer, and fitness coach. Kaffy broke into the limelight after winning the Guinness World Record for the longest dance party at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon in 2006. She danced for 55 hours and 40 minutes.
