Wolves released a statement confirming the 29-year-old will not be a part of the squad as a disciplinary measure and a deterrent to other players.

Wolves in the statement confirmed Johnny has been approached by the club's hierarchy to resolve issues. They added he has apologized but the two parties have agreed that the only solution is that he stays off the first team atleast until January next year.

"As people have become aware, there was an incident with Jonny last week, and since then I’ve sat down with him, he’s apologised, and we have outlined the way forward.

"We had a conversation and have agreed that at least until the end of the January window he won’t be part of the first-team group," Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs confirms.

Johnny's training ground bust-up happened before the club took on Arsenal in the Premier League in their last match. After the incident, the club have been largely secretive of what actually transpired.

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, when annoucing Johnny has been left out of the squad for the Arsenal match, said 'things happen a lot in club's training ground these days, and I will rather not go into details of what transpired with Jonny."

O'Neil added the fans will be updated of Jonny's return when he is back but at the moment he remained suspended from the squad.

There are still no clues on what happened but sources close to the club have revealed the fallout is linked to Jonny's Wolves future. The defender is reportedly trying to force a move away from the club but has met the opposition of the club's hierarchy.

Jonny joined Wolves initially as a loanee from Atlético Madrid in 2018. Following a string of brilliant individual performance, his loan deal was made permanent.

He has made 134 appearance for the club but has recently fell down the club's pecking order. This season, he has made one appearance for the club.

With his dwindling fortunes at the Molineux, Jonny wants a move away from the club but he is still considered key to the squad.

He has a contract with the club till 2025 but wants a new challenge as his Wolves deadlock under Gary O'Neil shows no sign of abating.
