Woman who was arrested for selling her baby says she was deceived.

The 33 year old woman who was arrested not too long ago for selling her baby who was just 18 months old has said she was deceived.

This woman allegedly sold her 18 months Baby for N600,000.

She has now said that the woman who gave her N600,000 for the baby deceived her and stole her baby.

The woman was identified as Olaide Adekunle. She was arrested after she returned home from Lagos without the baby.

She revealed this while speaking about her connection with people suspected to be human traffickers

She revealed she is a trader who sells soft drinks and also does other available jobs.

Her plight had begun when her husband had chased her out from the house after she borrowed money and the money lenders had come to collect. Prior to this, her husband had been beating her.
She then went to her father's house and continued her business of hawking drinks there.
She says her father also eventually chased her out

She was asked if the child was taken from her or if she sold her after she made a statement saying she was taken away.

She responded saying the child was taken from her after she was given N600,000.

They asked how it happened and she revealed that she was asking one day and started crying. Her 18 month old child had been strapped to her back.

She said a man named Damilare then approached her and asked what was going on.

She then narrated her ordeal to him and he said he was going to help her so they exchanged contact
He later called her and told her to come to Igando General Hospital.

She said they met his sister named Grace and she worked at the hospital.
She asked if Grace could help her with N10,000 so she can purchase more drinks to sell.

The woman promised to help her and said she would be helping her to take care of her child while she hawked because it was dangerous to carry the child around.

Their agreement was to meet at the hospital daily to give Mrs Grace the child.

She says that Mrs Grace really took care of the child and even herself.

She revealed that one day, the woman had asked for her account number and she told her the details of the account were with her husband.
She was later able to collect the ATM details from her husband.

Mrs Grace told her she wanted to help her start a business so she would stop hawking.
The following day, Mrs Grace gave her N5,000 to open another account which she did.

The next time she met Mrs Grace, she was with another woman.

She mentioned the woman said she wanted to help her and transferred N300,000 to her new account and the other account.
She was grateful and thanked her.

After some time, the woman asked for the child saying she wanted to buy her biscuits and she did because she had been leaving her child with her before.

She said when it was time for her to come back, the woman didn’t return.

After some time she had left the hospital to search for her but didn't see her again.

By the next day, she called her husband who said they should report to the police and it was from there and she also got arrested.

She said she also reached out to Damilare who also stopped picking her calls after some time.
