Former Manchester City star Yaya Toure has blasted his agent, Dimitri Seluk, for his African curse claims on Manchester City.

Dimitri Seluk claimed an African curse was placed on Manchester City not to win the Champions League but the curse has been lifted as City for Real Madrid clash.

An uncanny and strange theory explaining Manchester City's Champions League deadlock emerged when one of their biggest players and former player Ivory Cost international, Yaya Toure exited the club in 2018.

Manchester City are one of the biggest spenders in English and European football, breathing with one of the best legs and shinning stars in the game.

They have dominated English Premier League for five years but have failed to translate their domestic success in English football in the European stage.

The Premier League giants have not failed to qualify for the Champions League knockout each year but failed to clinch the most coveted club trophy in European football.

They came close to smashing it in 2021 when they reach the finals but ended up losing to domestic rivals Chelsea.

The Citizens are now in the semifinals and will tackled Laliga giants Real Madrid in a rematch of 2021/22 semifinal.

They will be hoping to avenge last year's semifinal exit by eliminating the reigning European champions and make it to their second Champions League final in the club's history.

However, according to Dimitri Seluk, a curious plague of misfortune, thwarting Manchester City's effort to break into the elite clubs in Europe, is hanging around the neck of the team.

According to him, after Yaya Toure's acrimonious exit from Manchester City following his faceoff with Pep Guardiola, he (Dimitri Seluk) and Toure had consulted African shamans - religious priest with magical powers - to place a curse on Pep Guardiola and cast a spell on Manchester City not to lift the Champions League trophy.

With Manchester City in the semifinals of the 2022/23 Champions League, Dimitri Seluk has disclosed the curse has been lifted and Manchester City can go ahead and win the Champions League.

The Mirror reports Dimitri Seluk tendered an apology and said he and Yaya Toure wants Manchester City to win the Champions League this time.

''I want to apologise for this matter. I think it is time for this bitterness to stop – and I know that Yaya feels the same because he wishes nothing but success for City."

'I can say that the spell has now been lifted by the shamans – and that I think City will win the Champions League under Pep," he said.

Yaya Toure blasts Dimitri Seluk, distances self from curse claims

Yaya Toure immediately responded to Seluk's African curse claims as captured by the media, referring to it as nonsense and he should not be associated with it.

Toure called out the media to disregard such stereotyped cursors on Africa with its possible harmful effects.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Yaya Toure wrote, "My former agent is being quoted by the media about a "curse." Please don’t associate me with this nonsense and lazy stereotypes about African curses!?

'Media… move on please. This man does not represent me in any way. Amplifying these stereotypes is harmful.''

Dimitri Seluk's curse claim on Manchester City seems to have been exaggerated as Manchester City's Champions League deadlock lingers.

Before Yaya Toure exited Manchester City in 2018, he obviously clashed with Pep Guardiola on how he treated African players. Toure made just one appearance for Manchester City in the 2017/2018 season before his exit.

However, it is worth noting the former African footballer of the year was not a party to the curse claims as put forward by Dimitri Seluk.
