Nigerian singer and songwriter Yemi Alade queries the Lagos State Government over the recent demolition of houses across the state.
In a recent video, Yemi Alade faulted the state government for demolishing houses and ruining people's investments because of infrastructural development. Yemi Alade lamented about the present condition of communities in the Maryland area of Lagos and how hundreds have been rendered homeless overnight.
She said, "Lagos State, what is going on? Does it make sense that people will invest millions of Naira into real estate, and buy houses and Lagos State will be breaking walls, breaking houses, and rendering people homeless?
It is done serially. It is done back to back. I'm in Maryland right now. The entire place is on fire. People are sleeping up in their houses, waking up the next day homeless."
