You have no business with the Muslim holiday, Speed Darlington tells Igbos
Indigenous Afrobeats singer Speed Darlington angrily tells his Igbo counterparts to stop celebrating the Islamic Eid-l-Fitir festival. He said he was shocked to see the Igbos both men and women update their status with "Happy Eid Mubarak." According to him, Igbos have no business celebrating the Sallah and he hadn't the slightest idea why they are now celebrating.
He told them to allow the Muslims celebrate Sallah in their own way while they stay out of it because they are not meant to to celebrate.
His view about the Sallah festivities stirred controversy in the media as many opined that he is pained because no one gave him Salah meat. Others said he should keep his advice to himself and allow those who want to celebrate with the Muslims to do so in peace. Many wouldn't miss the Sallah meat for anything in the world and would happily reciprocate by gifting their Muslim friends Christmas Chicken in December.
