Zimbabwean filmmaker commits suicide days after 33rd birthday
A Zimbabwean filmmaker was reported to have committed suicide recently. This woman who was identified as Violet Avoid killed herself just a few days after her 33rd birthday. She is a Philippines-based filmmaker from Zimbabwe. She reportedly committed suicide by ingesting rat poison the day after her birthday. She was reportedly depressed and then killed herself to escape the depression.
However, in a recent development, her husband has come out to debunk the news of her death. According to him she is still alive. He revealed this a day after the news of her death had been shared on social media. Some people are finding the entire situation to be quite strange and controversial.
Violet Avoid is a well-known filmmaker. She came on social media a few months ago to reveal how she had been battling with depression. She had also shared the story about how she had been raped in her workplace. The sexual assault had then led to a pregnancy. She attempted to keep the pregnancy from her husband because she was already married at the time the incident occurred. She shared that she didn't know what happened until the following morning.
Her husband wasn't around when she was sexually assaulted. He had been away for some months. This incident led to a confrontation at her workplace and eventually she was arrested until her boss surrendered himself and she was then released. After this incident, her husband sent her away from the house and they are in the process of filing for a divorce. She then moved to the Philippines.
The news of her death then came a few days ago but her husband has revealed that she is alive. Her husband has been identified as Tichaona Martin Madzikanda. He was seen in a video recently speaking about her. According to him she is alive but she is unconscious. The video was shared on Violet’s Facebook page.
He also claimed that she didn't commit suicide but had been poisoned. She suffered from food poisoning and is currently hospitalized.
