The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations continued to produce electric matches and astonishing results, with the best of football being witnessed.

Guinea 0-2 Senegal

The Teranga Lions displayed their brilliance for the umpteenth time on the night, with Abdoulaye Seck scoring in the 61st minute.

Aliou Cisse's side showed their quality, creating chances and playing comfortably all 90 minutes.

Iliman Ndiaye scored the killer goal for Senegal at the stroke of the 90th minute, with Sadio Mane being the provider of the opportunity following a quick break.

The Teranga Lions qualified from Group C as log-leaders with 9 points from 3 matches, while Guinea finished 3rd with 4 points from 3 matches.

Guinea's chances of qualifying as one of the best losers look to be in good shape, as they currently have the most points amongst the third-placed teams.

Gambia 2-3 Cameroon

Cameroon took the lead in the 56th minute through Karl Toko Ekambi, with a well-placed header into the net.

Ablie Jallow scored the equalizer for the Gambians in the 72nd minute and the Indomitable Lions began to get frantic.

Ebrima Colley doubled Tom Saintfiet's side's lead in the 85th minute, and shock waves went through the spine of Cameroon supporters.

Anyway, Rigobert Song's side redeemed themselves in the space of 4 minutes, with James Gomez unfortunately scoring an own goal in the 87th minute.

In the first minute of additional time in the second 45, Christopher Wooh netted the winner for Cameroon, which saw them ascend into the 2nd spot in Group C, with 4 points from 3 matches.

It was a day where fans of the Indomitable Lions had a rollercoaster of emotions, as they felt pain, joy, and ultimately happiness at the culmination of the clash.

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Bronze winners were at some point in the encounter in danger of elimination, but their blushes indeed were spared.

Gambia crashed out in the group stage, having failed to secure even a point at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

They gave their all against Rigobert Song's side and even nearly drew the clash after Muhammed Sanneh put them back late in the game.

However, following a VAR review, the goal was chalked off, leaving supporters of the national team perplexed and gutted, as they left the tournament without a win.

The Scorpions have made just 2 appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations, with the first being in 2021 and they crashed out in the semi-final on that occasion.

Meanwhile, Cameroon face Nigeria in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, and that clash is expected to be a blockbuster.

For Senegal, it is unknown the country they will be facing, but a clash against one of the best losers appears to be on the cards.
