The sporting director of Barcelona, Deco, said he wouldn't sell Frankie De Jong and Ronald Araujo just to buy Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe has been linked with several clubs in the past 3 seasons, with the Catalan side reported to be interested in signing the Frenchman at a point in time.

However, those rumors died a natural death due to Barcelona's financial woes, which hampered them from making mega signings.

Real Madrid are apparently the team more likely to land the 2018 World Cup winner due to the attacker's love for the team.

Los Blancos also have the financial capability to sign Kylian Mbappe during the seasons he couldn't exit the Parc Des Princes on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old's current deal with Paris Saint Germain comes to an end at the expiration of the 2023/24 season and every indicator keeps pointing towards the exit of the France national team captain.

It is uncertain the financial implications that it might have on Barcelona if he arrives on a free transfer, however, sporting director Deco has passed up the chance to sign Mbappe.

PSG are also making plans to see if the contract of Kylian Mbappe can be extended, with several juicy offers reportedly being tabled thus far.

Anyway, Los Blancos appear to be the favorite to land the sublime forward, as aforementioned due to his desire to join the Spanish side.

Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old.

Meanwhile, De Jong and Araujo have both put in a great shift for Barcelona on many occasions, and it appears they are passionate about the badge.

Frankie De Jong joined the Blaugrana side from Ajax on July 1, 2019, for a fee of €86 million, while Ronald Araujo joined Barcelona B in 2018 from Boston River for a fee of €4.7 million.

They have experienced a steady rise and progression in their careers, as they are now being seen as one of the best in their positions.

De Jong has made 205 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 16 goals and providing 21 assists in all competitions, while Araujo has made 138 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions.

Anyway, there is pleasing news for supporters of the Catalan-based club, with Anderson Luís de Souza popularly known as Deco revealing that the club have a verbal agreement with youngster Lamine Yamal.

This agreement is for when the footballer turns 18, and it will see his contract extended, with Deco also expressing that Lamine has three more years on his contract with Barcelona.

The Portuguese said: “We will extend Lamine Yamal's contract as soon as he turns 18 in 2025.

“We have already made an effort with him last summer, so now Lamine has three more years on his contract”.

The current deal of the 16-year-old with the Blaugrana side has a €1 billion release clause embedded in it.
