Cristiano Ronaldo has been nominated alongside an outstanding list of players for the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards.

The Portuguese is amongst 30 players vying to win the award, with rival Lionel Messi also shortlisted.

Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Yassine Bounou, Harry Kane, Julian Alvarez, Nicolo Barella, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham to name a few were also nominated.

The 14th edition of the swashbuckling Globe Soccer Awards will be held on the 19th of January 2024.

The award ceremony will take place alongside the 18th Dubai International Sports Conference, which is in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.

It will be held at the luxurious five-star Atlantis, The Palm, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the player to have won the award the most, winning it six times since its inception.

Lionel Messi has won it just once in history, winning it in 2015. The last three winners of the Globe Soccer Awards for the Best Men's Player are; Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema.

Ronaldo won the award in 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, whilst at Real Madrid and also during his early years at Juventus.

The 2023 Globe Soccer Awards could be a three-horse race, with Erling Haaland, and Lionel Messi apparently also the favorites to possibly land the award.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo's form in 2023 could also put him in the mix, with an impressive 46 goals so far for club and country.

Meanwhile, in the women's category for the Best Women's Player for 2023, 20 players were nominated.

Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala is the only African player that made the cut, with other notable players nominated being; Chelsea's Sam Kerr, Manchester United's Mary Earp, Real Madrid's duo of Linda Caicedo and Olga Carmona also made it to the 20-man list.

Aitana Bonmati, who won the 2023 Ballon d'Or was also nominated and she has been tipped as a prime favorite to go home with the Best Women's Player at the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards.

Other award categories include; Best Men and Women Club of the Year, Best Coach of the Year, Fans Favorite Player of the Year, and Emerging Player of the Year amongst others.

Additionally, there is an award for basically players and clubs in the Middle East, with the Best Club President and Best Sporting Director of the Year also to be awarded.

Notable individuals nominated in the Best President of the Year Awards include; Joan Laporta of Barcelona, Florentino Perez of Real Madrid, Aurelio De Laurentiis of Napoli e.t.c

For the Best Sporting Director of the Year Award, notable names include; Monchi of Aston Villa, Edu Cesar Daud Gasper of Arsenal, and Txiki Bergiristain of Manchester City.
