Information disclosed by the Dept Management Office show that the Total Public Debt Stock as at June 30, 2020 which comprises the Debt Stock of the Federal government, the 36 state governments and FCT stood at N31.009trn indicating a rise of N2.381trn when compared to Debt Stock of N28.628trn recorded as at March 31, 2020.

According to data from DMO the N2.381trn/USD 6.593 bn rise was accounted for by the USD3.36 bn Budget support loan from IMF, New Domestic Borrowing to finance the Revised 2020 Appropriation Act including the issuance of the N162.557 bn Sukuk, and promissory notes issued to settle claims of Exporters.
