The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovers N30bn from the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Beta Edu.

The EFCC confirmed that on Monday, 8th April, the Federal Government recovered a sum of N30bn from Beta Edu.

Recall that the FG probed Dr. Beta Edu in January for her involvement in the approval of the transfer of N586M into a personal account. The female Minister allegedly signed a memo instructing the Accountant General Oluwatoyin Madein, to transfer the said amount into the bank account of a certain Oniyelu Bridget as a financial grant for four states.

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede said President Tinubu is ready to fight corruption to the maximum, adding that the agency is currently investigating 50 bank accounts they have traced money into. He also mentioned that the investigation may take some time because the case is a huge one.
