Nigeria's anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced plans to rehabilitate convicted internet fraudsters also known as "Yahoo boys".
The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed this in a meeting in Abuja on Thursday, 21st March 2024. Olukoyede revealed the agency's plan to rehabilitate fraudsters with lesser sentences. He said rehabilitating the convicted fraudsters will be instrumental in reorienting their minds to making more positive choices.
Olukoyede said it is in the youth's best interest that the agency is making plans to prevent them from indulging in cybercrime and other atrocities.
