The Guinness World Record have issued a sound warning to Nigerians in a new post via the new Instagram app, Threads.

It is no longer news that there is a wide blown epidemic of GWR attempts in Nigeria currently. The epidemic was triggered by Hilda Baci's successful attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon by a single individual.

Ever since Hilda Baci completed hers, Nigerians immediately swung into action. There have been countless announcements made by various individuals to break a record whether it is approved by GWR or not.

Chef Dammy and Chef Deo attempted to break Hilda Baci's cook-a-thon record.

Others have also announced the attempt for the longest hours for painting, an Instagram live session, sing-a-thon, Indoor-thon, and even a kiss-a-thon which was banned by the Ekiti State government.

An account with the username livingwithajoke posted on Threads saying, "I'm coming for the Idea-a-thon and puff-puff-a-thon titles. Get ready!"

In this respect, the Guiness World Record responded telling Nigerians to slow down and take a break from breaking records.

In another tweet made by Instablog9ja yesterday, GWR made a comment informing Nigerians to verify and seek approval from them first before attempting to break any record.
