Former Vice president Osinbajo receives New appointment from GEAPP.

The former Vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has received a new appointment from the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP).

He was appointed as the Global Advisor of GEAPP. His role is to assist GEAPP’s mission which is to accelerate clean energy deployment in developing countries.

This news was first shared on the company’s website yesterday, Tuesday before Prof Osinbajo himself took to twitter to announce his new role.

Prof Yemi Osinbajo was the immediate past Vice president of Nigeria. He is a lawyer, professor and also a politician.

He served alongside Muhammadu Buhari, under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They got into office in 2015 and served for 2 terms which lasted 8 years. They completed their tenure just a few months ago, 2023.
Osinbajo was the 14th vice president of Nigeria.

The statement which the company released revealed that Prof Osinbajo "will support GEAPP’s partnership with governments so as to enhance the enabling environment and delivery effectiveness to unlock faster and greater capital flows into the clean energy sector"

The CEO of GEAPP who is Simon Harford, revealed that Prof. Osinbajo was a respected person and a role model even during his service for many years.

He revealed that he will be very valuable to GEAPP with his leadership, professionalism, global network and relationships etc.

Prof Osinbajo also took to twitter to express his joy about working with GEAPP.

He shared that he is excited to announce that he has been appointed as the Global Advisor to Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP).

He shared that they will work together to unlock capital flows into the clean energy sector and also work towards boosting Africa's share in the global carbon market.

He revealed that GEAPP has proved to be committed to supporting developing countries as they shift to a clean energy making use or models that will lead to universal energy access, boost economic growth, provide jobs etc within a short period.
