Manchester United have lost 12 of their 24 matches across all competitions this season - the same number of defeats they recorded throughout all their 62 matches last season.

For the first time in the history of the club, United lost a home league match to Bournemouth in another bizzare result, and it is was with an outrageous score margin

They are also the first English club in Champions League history to concede 15 goals in the group stage of the competition.

Amidst the club's dwindling fortunes, Erik ten Hag's job could not be more insecure, especially with Sir Jim Ratcliffe eager to transform the fortunes of the club when his £1.3bn co-ownership bid is ratified.

According to reports from Transfer Live, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is already shuffling for possible replacements for Erik ten Hag should United's dismal run persists when he assumes the reins at the club's sporting and footballing operations.

The report reads;

“Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United future is on the line if he cannot arrest their slump this season, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS waiting in the wings to make a potential change.

The four-man shortlist to potentially replace Erik ten Hag are former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui, former Chelsea manager Graham Potter, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, and Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi.

Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter, including Roberto de Zerbi are the leading contenders due to their experience in the Premier League while Zinedine Zidane comes in as a distant fourth but still stands a chance due to his pedigree and experience with Real Madrid before his sabbatical.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is expected to continue on the reins as Man United manager but will be expected to reverse the downward spiral of events to save his job.

United takes on Liverpool in their next fixture, and the Dutch will face a huge task to return the Red Devils to winning ways against Jurgen Klopp's star-studded side.
