Gunmen attack Benue community, kill over 25 people
Some Suspected Gunmen have attacked Benue communities once again. This new attack led to the death of 25 people.
The attack happened early yesterday, Saturday morning.
They attacked Imande Mbakange community and some other communities in Mbacher Council Ward of Kastina-Ala Local Government Area.
These gunmen set many houses ablaze as well as some farmlands. Some people who survived were seriously injured from the attack.
These men had begun their attack at around 4am. People were still in bed when the attack begun.
Sources revealed that it was the gunshots that woke people up.
Many fled to save themselves but those that the gunmen caught up with were killed
People revealed that the community felt like a war zone due to the fire and shootings. Many places have been deserted as people ran for safety.
Mr Alfred Atera who is the Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA confirmed this incident. He revealed that there was indeed such an attack.
He then appealed to security agencies to increase their efforts in patrolling these communities.
He also revealed that many houses and properties were burnt and destroyed.
He also expressed his sympathy and condolences to everyone affected by this incident.
